King Yemma, also known as Yama (Ya-mah), is a being seen after death in the Dragon Ball universe. He is at the check-in station in Other-World, the judge who determines if characters make it to Heaven or Hell. King Yemma/Yama is based off of the Chinese deity Yama, and also shares similarities to the Hebrew deity Yahweh. King Yemma is in the "spirit world" per say, a being only normally seen after death. King Yemma is good-natured and intelligent, although can be angered without much effort. He is a quirky character that adds some humor to the series.
